Johannesburg’s Museum of Illusions opens its doors at The Zone @ Rosebank
The Museum of Illusions opened its doors for the first time in Johannesburg, at The Zone @ Rosebank on July 5.
The museum became the 53rd Museum of Illusions in the world, joining the likes of Dubai, Chicago, New York, Paris, Istanbul, Milan, Shanghai, Cairo, Kuala Lumpur, and Dallas which are all home to the remarkable experience.
The concept was first launched in Zagreb, Croatia in 2015, and became a global phenomenon, with over 12 million people having visited the museums to date.
No two museums are the same, with each facility taking visitors on a memorable sensory journey through mind-bending installations that leverage art, science, maths, and psychology uniquely.
Visitors are encouraged to interact and experiment with the extraordinary exhibits that use optical illusions, visual tricks, and hands-on interactive displays to create a playful environment, and to capture their memories in photos and videos forever.
As a champion of the ‘edutainment concept,’ the Museum of Illusions fuses fun and entertainment with education and learning.
Whether you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind adventure, an enthralling family excursion, an extraordinary date night, a day out with your bestie, the perfect spot to indulge your social media content creation dreams, or simply looking to broaden your knowledge and perspective, this spot will help you do that and more.
The Johannesburg Museum of Illusions is open 7 days a week, from Monday to Thursday from 09:00–21:00, Friday and Saturday from 09:00–22:00, and Sundays and Public Holidays from 09:00–20:00.
There is also a celebration party room for those who would like to bring a group for a special occasion, such as birthdays, company team builds, educational school trips, or other events.
Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.
